I’m a husband of 38+ years to my amazing wife Rene, dad to three grown kids, and a “Granpapa” to five incredible grandchildren. I grew up in the humble hills of north Arkansas, surrounded by beautiful lakes, rivers, and streams—a place that taught me to appreciate life’s simple things.
My educational journey took me from Arkansas to upstate New York to study accounting and get my masters in business administration.
I’ve spent most of my career in and around technology and financial services, but through consulting work, I’ve gotten my hands dirty in just about every industry you can imagine. Whether it’s marketing, sales, finance, or customer service, I’ve learned that business challenges are really people challenges in disguise.
Here’s what really lights me up: over the years, I’ve had the chance to mentor and coach tons of people. Most of these relationships happened organically. Someone would grab coffee with me, ask for advice, or we’d end up talking after a meeting. What I discovered was how much joy I got from helping people figure out their next step. It was incredibly fulfilling.
I think I’m drawn to people who have experienced that feeling of being “stuck” from time to time. I am also drawn to working with men who are trying to figure out what is going to drive them in the last quarter of the game. Will it be money or something more outward and values-based? I was stuck at various times of my life and when I left my corporate position in April 2025 I experienced a sudden loss of identity. I didn’t know who I was without my title, and I didn’t know how to answer the question, “what do you do?”
Here’s what I’ve learned from working with everyone from janitors to CEOs: we all put our pants on one leg at a time. We’re all human, dealing with human stuff, just at different scales and in different contexts. And we all need God.
I like to write about things like identity, purpose, healing from the past, seeking God’s heart and how these things give context to my life, whether it’s work or personal. It’s just one life, and I want to show up as the same person in all aspects of my it!!
